All investments must undergo a stringent due diligence process by the fund investment manager, Cobden Advisors. Each investment must have credit committee and independent board approval and in most cases independent consultant experts will sit on the credit committee.

Cobden Advisors has experience in providing investment advisory services. We conduct these services for our own projects but also provide these services for other companies ranging from start-ups to established funds and can accommodate a variety of structures and asset classes.

Cobden works with clients on a tailored basis: we can provide the necessary offshore regulatory framework and robust due diligence process enabling asset managers, family offices or boards to purchase target assets in accordance with their preferred investment criteria which can be prescribed in the fund documentation for transparency.
Independent Investment Committee – an integral part of the fund’s success, this team will carry out detailed due diligence and once satisfied recommend the project to the investment committee. This will be an independent committee, chaired by the fund manager. Each project has different investment committee members with assigned experts in the field for which the project is related. A hotel project for example may have an experienced and seasoned hotel operator, chartered surveyor specialising in hotels or a hotel finance expert.
Independent Board- Cobden’s independent board members oversee implementation of the investment criteria and strategy as defined by the fund documentation. Their responsibility is to ensure that the criteria is followed and to provide overall board governance and reporting to the entire fund company cell structure. These individuals provide a dispassionate objectivity that directors with a closer relationship to the company cannot provide.
Asset Management- Controlled by the fund but, depending on the project, we will expect to contract with trusted asset managers that are leaders in the investment sectors to ensure all assets are managed to the highest standards. These trusted advisors will enable scalability whilst not undermining the quality or deliverability of the project.
All stakeholders will be aligned in terms of interest so the combined team is focused on delivery of the financial objectives of the project and its investors’ expectations.
